Holy Mother of your ass sleeps in my bed every night. If you are looking for a hot alpha male who knows how to turn up the bossy attitude then look no further. I loved this book and the banter back and forth.I mean talk about panty change because that s*** was happening every time he opened his mouth. I’m in love. I can’t seem to stop talking about this book for some reason. I was hooked from the very beginning and knew within the first 20% I was going to love every part of it. Page after page I kept falling more and more in love with the characters as well as the author.The author introduced us to ton of side characters whose books I’m already dying to read. I don’t think there was one thing about this story that I did not absolutely love. A completely well written and executed love story. The dirty talk, sexiness and humor never felt forced, everything just fit perfectly. The only people that might love this book more than those reading it, might be the ones that get to enjoy the after effect of reading this.

Lucia and Issac were a sweet couple and the suited each other well. The meeting with the parents and possible blackmail story line didn't seem fully developed and left this reader with unanswered questions. Issac's whole focus seemed to be on getting the board of the BDSM club and he finally woke up to his need for Lucia. Not a bad read.
I was on board with this story. Liked the early development of the heroine and thought the hero might get developed a little more, but no such luck. The sex scenes get your heart moving sad the thriller part of the book does not. It had a lot of potential and it seemed as though the author was headed in tat direction then all of a sudden in one swoop of a small paragraph it's over. I'll probably keep reading the series but only if my standby authors have nothing out.
I enjoyed this book but the whole "thriller" portion could have been left out. We don't have to have danger in every book. Otherwise, a well written, steamy book. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
What a fresh, humorous and very sexy approach to writing an erotic novel. I loved both main characters. They came alive as i turned each page. Excellent work!
It was a ok story, I feel like it was missing something, maybe a bit more background story, she meets the hero and her whole world was all about him, you know she had a life before the hero, like going out with her girl friends that kind of stuff. Don't get me wrong the story was good it just fell flat at some points. But I did love the fact that Lucia was funny as he'll her friends and family were funny too. Also the hero has a twin sister and you only get to meet her once. I wish they had more appearance in the book. But all in all the story was descent a bit pricey but ok.
My Wicked Valentine is the first in a new BDSM-Club series, written by the talented Ann Mayburn. No need to cover the storyline, as other reviewers already have.
The characters of Lucia and Isaac felt very real and three-dimensional. Lucia is working-class poor and Isaac most definitely isn't, but despite these differences, they click emotionally as a couple. I loved how Lucia kept reminding Isaac that not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth, whenever he made a comment or suggestion that showed just how out of touch he was with the reality that is the financial life of most people. But Isaac isn't a jerk about it and he learns. The emotional distance Isaac feels he must keep between them is one of the things that makes me want to smack him, but when he realizes how much Lucia means to him, the aggravation is worth it.
And then there's the sex -- hot and sweaty, sweet and loving and kinky and vanilla. Since Lucia is a complete innocent to the lifestyle, Ann handled the light beginner BDSM sex very well and she mixed it up with good vanilla sex scenes for an enjoyable balance. Club Wicked is quite the BDSM playground, with lots of players with many types of fetishes, so I expect other books in the series to be much kinkier.
Because I am guilty of judging a book by its cover, I will say that cover art of "My Wicked Valentine" and the upcoming release of "My Wicked Nanny" are very well done and convey a terrific "feeling" along with conveying the sense of a "series." The current trend of covers, especially for erotica, with a single object (i.e. a grey tie, cuff links, or a splash of water) has been great for getting people to read erotica who were previously put off by graphic covers, but they really don't do much for the story visually. I'm not saying we should go back to the 80's style bodice-ripper clinch poses, or porn-style dungeon scenes but this pendulum swing has gone to the opposite end and is really boring. The covers for the Club Wicked series convey a classy sensuality, and I am pleased to see it. Here's hoping Loose-ID doesn't mess with a good thing!
I am always looking for a new series that will keep me interested until the next Sinclair or Blake work appears. This has potential. Lucia is a new party planner in D. C. She takes a job for a Valentine's Day part in a new upscale club in town. (One of the problems with this scenario is location. The press is everywhere in the capital looking for scandal. There's not enough security on the planet to protect such a club!). Leaving that aside, the CEO of the club, Isaac,has the immediate hots for Lucia and recommends a crash course in BDSM so that she can plan a better party. Of course he does. And of course, she is submissive.
Not much out of the ordinary but the characters are interesting, the complications fairly serious, and the sex is balanced with some plot.
